Meet Tracy Ongena, Alvita Care’s Founder
Our founder, Tracy Ongena, never dreamed she would start a trusted home health care agency that would grow to be a leader in two states when she was studying economics in college. As she was getting underway with a career on Wall Street, Tracy noticed her grandmother, Nana, began to call less and less, her sentences made less sense and she started to repeat herself. Despite this, Nana was living alone and running the family farm at 85 years old. She was considered by many family members to be invincible until a Thanksgiving visit changed everything.
When Tracy arrived home for the holiday, she found her grandmother asleep on the couch and clutter everywhere – in the home of a woman known for her meticulous housekeeping. Nana needed a shower and hadn’t collected her mail for so long that the Post Office had placed a hold on it. At that point, Tracy was called into action, and the momentum has never stopped. We are dedicated to raising the standard of home care in the New York/New Jersey area because Tracy doesn’t want other families to have similar experiences with their loved ones when seeking care for their loved ones.
