A Calling Passed Down

Toni Ann’s journey into care began at home, watching her mother serve as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her mother’s patience, compassion, and quiet strength left a lasting impression. Inspired by that example, Toni Ann chose to follow in her footsteps, becoming a New York State certified Personal Care Aide in July 2022.

She joined Alvita Care on December 5, 2024, and from her first day it was clear that she was not just here to work. She was here to make a difference.

A Day Shaped by Compassion

No two of Toni Ann’s days look the same because every client brings their own story, their own needs, their own rhythm of life. Some days she assists with bathing, dressing, and meals. Other days are spent tidying the home, running errands, or offering companionship. For Toni Ann, even the smallest gestures such as a warm meal, a listening ear, or a smile are acts of dignity and kindness that matter deeply.

Love That Crosses Oceans

Behind Toni Ann’s dedication is her greatest inspiration, her son who lives in Jamaica. Leaving him behind to work in another country has been the hardest decision of her life. “It requires immense sacrifice on my part, the distance, the missed moments, but I want to give him a better future,” she shares.

It is this love and quiet determination that fuels her through long days and demanding schedules. Every act of care she provides is, in her heart, an act of love for her child too.

To her fellow caregivers, Toni Ann offers this gentle reminder: “Do not be afraid to ask for and accept help. Find ways to recharge and give yourself credit for the demanding work you do.”

One of Toni Ann’s proudest moments was caring for a married couple, each with different personalities and needs. It required patience, balance, and clear boundaries. With warmth and professionalism she managed to care for both, never letting either feel unseen.
