Empowering Compassionate Care with AI: A Conversation with InRhythm’s Gunjan Doshi

How cutting-edge technology is helping Alvita Care transform the senior experience

New York, NY – At Alvita Care, every innovation is in service of one goal: to help seniors age with dignity, comfort, and connection. That’s why our recent collaboration with Gunjan Doshi, Founder and Executive Chairman of InRhythm, is more than a tech partnership—it’s a shared vision for compassionate, human-centered care elevated by the power of AI.

InRhythm is a leader in AI-driven platform modernization, trusted by Fortune 50 companies and global financial institutions to transform their systems with speed, scale, and integrity. Now, that same level of expertise is helping Alvita Care bring smarter, safer, and more responsive tools to the families we serve.

In this interview, Tracy Ongena, Founder of Alvita Care, sits down with Gunjan to discuss how AI can be used not just to streamline operations, but to deepen human connection in elder care and support the caregivers who show up every day with heart.

Tracy Ongena:

Gunjan, thank you for joining me. At Alvita Care, our mission is to serve more families—more compassionately and effectively. As someone who has guided digital transformation at the highest level, how do you see AI supporting human connection in healthcare?

Gunjan Doshi:
Thank you, Tracy. The opportunity to bring AI into the world of elder care is incredibly exciting because it’s not about replacing people, it’s about removing the friction that gets in the way of their presence. At InRhythm, we’ve used AI to help banks detect fraud and streamline compliance. That same intelligence can help Alvita Care caregivers proactively identify health risks, reduce paperwork, and spend more time doing what matters most: being present with seniors.

Tracy:

At Alvita, we look at the whole person—physically, emotionally, and socially. How can AI support this kind of holistic care?

Gunjan:
When used with intention, AI becomes an invisible teammate. In a financial setting, it might flag subtle patterns in markets; in senior care, it could flag emerging health trends, behavioral changes, or medication inconsistencies. Imagine AI that automatically generates compliant care documentation or alerts a care coordinator when a client shows signs of cognitive or emotional decline. This is about giving your staff better insight, not more work—so they can act earlier, care deeper, and bring even more heart to their roles.

Tracy:

Many in our field still rely on outdated systems. What would you say to care providers who want to modernize but feel overwhelmed?

Gunjan:
That’s a common challenge we’ve helped companies navigate. You don’t have to rebuild everything at once. We advise clients—including Alvita—to start with one pain point. Maybe that’s a manual scheduling process, a high caregiver turnover issue, or slow client onboarding. We layer in AI tools strategically—like automated triage dashboards or predictive care planning—to create quick wins that build trust and momentum. It’s about evolving with purpose, not disruption.

Tracy:

Healthcare is a deeply regulated space. How do you balance innovation with compliance and safety?

Gunjan:
That’s where our experience in finance applies directly. At InRhythm, we design AI systems with governance and auditability at the core. For Alvita Care, that means tools that meet HIPAA standards, maintain strict data security, and ensure that AI never makes decisions in isolation—humans always stay in control. We build with transparency, so every AI action is traceable and accountable. That’s how innovation becomes not only safe, but sustainable.

Tracy:

Empathy is at the center of what we do. Can AI ever support that?

Gunjan:
Absolutely—and this is where AI becomes truly powerful. AI can be trained to detect patterns of loneliness, confusion, or behavioral changes from care notes, conversations, or biometric data—signals that may go unnoticed in day-to-day work. It can then prompt caregivers to check in more deeply or alert family members proactively. When done right, AI helps your team listen more attentively, act more quickly, and connect more meaningfully.

Tracy:

At Alvita, we always say our goal is to help people age surrounded by care, not bureaucracy. For those worried about losing their personal touch, what’s your message?

Gunjan:
Technology should never replace compassion—it should amplify it. The best innovation feels invisible because it gets out of the way and lets people be fully present. Whether it’s a banker helping a client, or a caregiver supporting a senior, the magic happens when tools enable more humanity—not less. That’s what we’re building with Alvita Care, and I’m proud to be part of it.

Tracy:

Beautifully said, Gunjan. Thank you for your partnership and for helping us create a future where innovation and empathy go hand in hand.

Gunjan:
Thank you, Tracy. It’s an honor. To any care leaders out there—if you’re looking to explore what AI can do for your staff, your clients, and your mission, we’d be happy to support you.
